• When you press the record and then the play button the actual recording will begin. This will be followed by a Title or Properties page for you to enter a title for your recording and designate a folder in which to save your recording (dont forget to Click OK on this window to lock in your saving information).

Completing and Saving The Recording

• After you click the stop button to end the recording, you must then save the current recording channel:

  1. Make sure the Recorder application is active (title bar of the Recorder application is blue or 'active' color).

  2. From the drop down menu bar, click on Current Channel and then Save.

  

  3. In the Base Browser, if you click the refresh button (water bucket), you will see the updated duration of the recording.

Advantages To Using Recorder vs Surfer

• Recorder uses "Record Mute" when it records. This closes every other possible recording channel coming into the application. In Surfer, the Surfer's Track Designation/Activation Controls are an extra step to check. In surfer you must make sure the PLAY part of this control is turned off when you record or you can get feedback. With the Recorder application, this is not a concern.
